I ended 2022 on a hopeful note for 2023 and it turned about to be a very busy year with lots of things happening. I also visited India twice this year which took up most of my vacation leaves as well as more unplanned ones. But I could do two big trips this year of which Inca Trail to Machu Pichu was definitely the highlight!
The year started off with a visit to India to be in time for my dad’s retirement ceremony. This was an important time for the whole family as my siblings too flew in for the occasion. In between the busy schedule I made some time to visit the magnificent British Residency Building in Hyderabad, India.

In March I checked off another adventure activity that I have been trying to do for a long time. Via Ferrata in Squamish, Canada.

In May I went on my second long distance train journey after my 5 day journey in Canada. This time in the United States. I took the California Zephyr train from Chicago to San Francisco and then took the Coast Starlight train from San Francisco to Seattle.

In June I went to Dallas to visit my sister. There, during my stay, my Brother in Law arranged a trip to NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

In August I was back to doing one of my favorite activities, Multiday trekking. I was back at it after a gap of 6 years. The last one was back in 2018 in Bhutan. This time I chose the 4 Day Inca Trail to Machu Pichu in Peru. It was the highlight of the year!

In September a medical emergency took me back to India where again, after everything was back to normal, I managed to eke out some time with my dad for a heritage walk.
